Senior Housing in Apple Valley's Central Village a Smart Move by City of Apple Valley

Ecumen Seasons at Apple Valley is the newest addition to Apple Valley's Central Village. This brings senior independent living, assisted living and memory care to a multi-faceted, pedestrian-focused neighborhood. Adjacent to this new senior community is Enjoy! Restaurant, which is a popular local eatery, and within walking distance are a Dunn Brothers Coffee Shop and The Shops on Galaxie. This village concept by the City of Apple Valley is a great addition to the community and empowering people to age in a community they love. Kudos to the City of Apple Valley for their vision, building a strong sense of community, and seeing aging and senior housing as an integral part of that community vision.
Here's more from city planners on Apple Valley's Central Village:
The 60-acre Central Village is pedestrian-oriented development that is expected to provide the Apple Valley with a variety of high-density housing, retail, office, restaurant, and other uses that will give the area a strong sense of place and the feeling similar to an old-fashioned downtown.
The Central Village is located at the intersection of 153rd Street W. and Galaxie Avenue and bounded by Foliage Avenue on the east, Founders Lane on the south, Garrett Avenue on the west and 151st Street W. to the north.
The Central Village will have a number of unique characteristics including taller buildings that will be located closer to the street, much like main streets in towns of yesteryear. There will also be parking structures, shared parking, and on-street parking which help also help to create traffic calming. The bump out parking design makes it easier for drivers to get in and out and allows for efficient on-street parking.
The Central Village is a walkable area and several parks are integrated into the pedestrian plan.
